Visit Old Town San Diego

For an unforgettable visit to San Diego, make sure you visit one of the city's top attractions, Old Town San Diego. Created in 1796, Old Town is the historic heart of the city, and it was California's first Spanish settlement. There is so much for you to enjoy, such as authentic Mexican restaurants, historic museums, unique handicrafts, and live events!

Old Town San Diego State Historic Park

If you want to go back in time, the Old Town State Historic Park has preserved how life was in San Diego in the early 1800s. There are many living history programs for you to see how blacksmiths, woodworkers, and more lived back in the day. The Casa de Estudillo is the most famous of the original adobe buildings in Old Town, furnished with relics from the 16th to 20th centuries for guests to admire. In the center of the park is the Bazaar del Mundo and Fiesta de Reyes, where you can enjoy artisan crafts and live cultural events.

Fiesta de Reyes

Live mariachi performers can be seen every day in Old Town, as well as seasonal and special event shows throughout the year. Ballet Folklórico dancers can be seen performing dances that celebrate Mexican heritage and culture year-round.

Bazaar Del Mundo

Bazaar del Mundo features award-winning restaurants and international shops with a dazzling array of ethnic clothing, jewelry, pottery, furnishings and many other treasures. Countless special events also make Bazaar del Mundo an attraction you won't want to miss!

Whaley House

The Whaley House Museum is one of only two officially designated haunted houses in California. Constructed in 1856 on a former gallows' site, the house was once home to the Whaley family as well as San Diego's first theater and county courthouse. And if you are feeling adventurous, visit the historic Whaley House, often called the "Most Haunted House in America" Haunted tours are a popular attraction, especially around Halloween!
