Sunland to focus on Sustainability going forward

At Sunland RV Resorts, we are passionate about environmental sustainability and taking steps to reduce our carbon footprint. This year we are committed to making big changes in our operations to conserve water, conserve electricity, reduce waste and preserve our natural environment.

In order to reduce waste in our corporate office, as well as our 9 resorts, we are making an effort to go paperless. In addition, we are sourcing our paper products made from post-consumer recycled materials and eliminating our use of single-use plastic and Styrofoam. We are also installing water refill stations across our properties to encourage guests and employees to eliminate the use of plastic water bottles. Just eliminating plastic bottles means we could prevent about 900 kilograms of carbon dioxide being released into our atmosphere this year alone.

For energy and water conservation we are installing low-flow shower heads, faucets and toilets in all of our bathrooms, cottages and villas. We are also controlling our irrigation to optimize when we water our plants to save water. We are switching to more efficient LED lighting across our resorts and investing in incorporating solar power at our resorts. Being more mindful with how we use our resources is something we encourage for employees, as well as guests.

To show our commitment to protecting our natural environment, we will be partnering with different local organizations focused on nature conservation. We know that investing in our forests and waterways is essential for their survival, and we know that investment in local organizations can be the best way to help.

With our resorts welcoming thousands of visitors each year, we recognize we have a responsibility to share this knowledge and the positive impact it has not just on the planet, but on our lives as a whole. By integrating an environmental responsibility program that encourages employees and guests alike to go green, we can protect the world's limited resources.
