PRESS RELEASE:
Sunland's Palm Desert RV resort raises $335 for Coachella's Pet Rescue Center.
Feb. 13, 2014 - PALM DESERT, Calif. - Emerald Desert RV Resort, a Sunland RV Resorts property, and guests shared the love Wednesday, February 12 at the 2014 Puppy Love Happy Hour Fundraiser.
In just one evening the resort-sponsored event helped raise $335 for the Pet Rescue Center of Coachella, Calif. The Pet Rescue Center is a non-profit, no-kill facility that has "[cared] for abandoned or lost animals" since 1998.
"Emerald Desert, like all of Sunland's properties, is an incredibly pet-friendly resort. Sometimes, however, giving our guests and their pets a place to enjoy just isn't enough. We wanted to come together with our guests and help pets in need," remarked Lesley Marr, General Manager of Emerald Desert RV Resort. "Thanks to the generosity of our guests, we were able to raise over $300 and contribute to a great local organization."
To raise money at last night's Puppy Love event, Emerald Desert sold hot dogs with the fixings. Emerald Desert staff supplied the food, and all proceeds were donated to the Pet Rescue Center. Regular pet-friendly events are held throughout the year including the very popular 4th Annual Emerald Desert Pet Parade on March 7. The 255-site RV resort also houses a fenced dog run for guests and pups to enjoy.
Pets are also welcome at all seven of Emerald Desert's sister properties, including Escondido RV Resort in North San Diego County. Escondido RV features Sunland's largest park at one-third of an acre. The fenced dog park also features a fire hydrant water fixture, training toys and shade trees for owners to enjoy.
