Sunland's Florida RV Resorts Sustain Minimal Damage and welcomes RV'ers who have been displaced

As you all know, Hurricane Irma just swept through Florida and the Caribbean, leaving damage and devastation in its wake. Our hearts go out to everyone who has suffered unimaginable loss. We were very fortunate here at Sunland RV Resorts that the storm largely spared our two Florida RV resorts, Silver Palms and Naples Motorcoach Resort. More importantly, all of our staff and guests who were staying with us are safe.

The hurricane did minimal damage to the grounds but knocked out our electricity in both resorts, as of today September 18th power has been restored at both resorts. Storm damage in adjacent areas has also made it dangerous and, in some cases, impossible, for evacuated employees to return to work, despite their commitment and desire to do so. We are pleased to announce our Silver Palms RV Resort has reopened to both owners and guest. Our Naples Motorcoach Resort remains closed a little longer to return the resort back to the paradise it is.

We are extremely grateful that the damage was limited to landscaping that was blown around, some rising water levels that, thankfully, didn't cause any flooding to the structures, and some Tiki roofs that blew off. We credit this to the combination of our locations, the wind that cooperated in our areas, the great foundations on which these properties were built, and the excellent maintenance from our impressive group of engineers and maintenance staff, who work so hard to keep the properties looking and functioning great every day and who were on site as soon as they could safely get here to start the cleanup process.

With so little damage, Silver Palms and Naples Motorcoach Resort will be fully operational and ready to open in plenty of time for the winter season. We know that many of our friends have not been so fortunate and may need several months to repair the heavy damage sustained to their Florida RV resorts and open their doors if they are able to open for the season at all.

If there is any way that Sunland RV Resorts can assist you with your reservation or help you to find available dates at one of our Florida RV resorts, please do not hesitate to contact us; we will accommodate as many new reservations as we have room for. For anyone who has a current reservation with us, you can rest assured that we will be ready to greet you when you get here. However, should you want to discuss any details of your trip, we would love to talk to you.

As so many people are in need of help to recover from this deadly storm, Sunland RV Resorts has also chosen a charity, American Red Cross that will assist the local community with recovery. If you would like to donate to the Red Cross, you can do so here Hurrican Irma Donation Page.

We want to thank all our cherished guests for your support and understanding, and for all of you who reached out to make sure we were OK and that our Florida RV resorts survived the storm.
